Fragile Items
Please note that FRAGILE items MUST BE LABELED clearly on your courier baggage shipments. Linex is not liable for any damage to the items as a result of inadequate / inappropriate packaging.
Plastic / Nylon bags
Shipments must be packged properly with plastic or nylon courier bags with clear marking on the exterior of the bag of its final destination, Linex airwaybill #, flight number / date and total bag number.

Are you shipping lithium batteries?
Lithium batteries are commonly used everyday, such as laptops and mobile phones, while accepted by Cathay Courier, it can cause fire hazards if improperly handled during shipping. It is important to adhere to the following key requirements and whenever you are unsure, get in touch with us.
*To ensure safety during transit, all electronic devices must be charged no more 30% of their full capacity. Failure to comply with this may result in potential hazards including risk of explosions.

Do you offer express next-flight-out, Saturday delivery, or urgent options?
Yes, we provide next-flight-out options via Cathay Pacific’s network (as fast as 24 hours to select key cities). Saturday first/last-mile delivery is available at certain destinations. Please specify “urgent” when booking or contacting customer service for availability, feasibility, and quotes.
What goods can I send with Linex?

Can I ship lithium batteries or items containing batteries?
Yes, many lithium batteries are allowed under IATA rules (PI 966–970, excluding PI 968). Provide details (Wh rating, packed with/in equipment), proper labelling, and MSDS documentation. Please note that damaged/defective batteries are prohibited.

How are duties, taxes, and customs fees calculated, and who pays them?
Duties and taxes are determined by the destination country’s customs based on HS code, declared value, origin, and local regulations. For some destinations, VAT may apply above de minimis thresholds. Get in touch with us for an estimated quote.
What is the difference between DDU and DDP, and which does Linex offer?
Most Linex shipments are DDU (recipient pays duties/taxes). DDP is available on request, please contact us for options.
What are EORI and IOSS, and do I need them for shipping to the EU?
EORI (Economic Operators Registration and Identification) is a unique ID number required by EU customs for any imports and exports into/out of the European Union.
It identifies you when importing and exporting across Europe. IOSS (Import One Stop Shop) is an EU system that simplifies VAT collection for shipments of low value goods (≤ €150) imported from outside the EU, simplifying the process of declaring and paying VAT to avoid delays for the buyer.
What is harmonized or HS code?
A Harmonized code is part of an internationally standardized system of names and numbers for classifying traded products for accurate calculation of taxes and duties and avoiding customs delays – false declaration can also lead to costly penalties and delays.
How do I prepare for customs clearance in the destination country?
Provide accurate commercial invoice, packing list, HS codes, and origin certificates or permits if required. We offer customs clearance at many destinations, please get in touch for destination specific guidance.

How do I correctly prepare a commercial invoice to avoid customs delays?
Include: full shipper/consignee details, item description, HS codes, quantities/values, origin, currency, and signature/date. Inaccurate or incomplete invoices are a common cause of holds.
